Tracking Rail Amendments to the BUILD America 250 Act

- [Support] Amendment offered by Rep. Jimmy Patronis (R-FL-1) to reduce historic preservation delays on rail infrastructure projects. VOTE YES.
- [Support] Amendment #068 offered by Rep. Rick Crawford (R-AR-01) to provide rail eligibility for the rural piece of the new Surface Transportation Accelerator Grant (STAG) program. VOTE YES.
- [Support] Amendment offered by Rep. Val Hoyle (D-OR-4) to move the INFRA grant program back into the Highway Trust Fund instead of making it dependent on annual appropriations. VOTE YES.
- [Oppose] Amendment #228 offered by Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA-4) which would remove the eligibility for passenger rail from the Surface Transportation Block Grants. VOTE NO.
- [Oppose] Amendment #263 offered by Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA-4) which would remove the eligibility for rail from the urban set-aside portion of STAG. VOTE NO.

The past couple years have indeed been difficult for Amtrak onboard service staff – coping with furloughs and job insecurity, adapting to changing protocols and services, not to mention the unfortunate events such as a tragic derailment and a fatal shooting.
